Mac users warned of malware. Sophos is warning Apple Mac users to be on their guard against Web sites hosting malicious code designed to infect their systems. The advice follows the discovery of a new version of the OSX/RSPlug Trojan horse that is being distributed via a legitimate-looking Web site offering HDTV software.
The new method for distribution is through an infected HDTV/DTV program called MacCinema. Even a visit to the site seems legitimate, users are then lead to download and install this application.
Macintoshs are not immune to viruses, so make sure your Mac is protected with up-to-date anti-virus software.
